INGREDIENTS
1/2 | to 3/4 cup mayonnaise |
1‑1/2 | teaspoons dried tarragon leaves |
1 | teaspoon bottled minced garlic |
1/4 | teaspoon salt |
1 | loaf (16 ounces) Italian or French bread, cut in half lengthwise |
2 | medium tomatoes, thinly sliced |
1 | to 2 ounces (1/4 to 1/2 cup) thinly sliced red onion |
2 | cups chopped romaine lettuce |
6 | ounces thinly sliced deli roast beef |
6 | ounces thinly sliced deli smoked turkey |
6 | ounces sliced smoked provolone or Monterey Jack cheese with hot peppers |
PREPARATION:
- Combine mayonnaise, tarragon, garlic and salt in small bowl; stir until well blended.
- Spread mayonnaise mixture evenly over cut sides of both bread halves.
- Layer bottom half of bread with tomatoes, onion, lettuce, roast beef, turkey and cheese. Cover with top half of bread; press down gently. Slice diagonally into 4 or 6 sandwiches.
