Way-Long Sandwich

INGREDIENTS
1/2to 3/4 cup mayonnaise
1‑1/2teaspoons dried tarragon leaves
1teaspoon bottled minced garlic
1/4teaspoon salt
1loaf (16 ounces) Italian or French bread, cut in half lengthwise
2medium tomatoes, thinly sliced
1to 2 ounces (1/4 to 1/2 cup) thinly sliced red onion
2cups chopped romaine lettuce
6ounces thinly sliced deli roast beef
6ounces thinly sliced deli smoked turkey
6ounces sliced smoked provolone or Monterey Jack cheese with hot peppers
PREPARATION:
  1. Combine mayonnaise, tarragon, garlic and salt in small bowl; stir until well blended.
  2. Spread mayonnaise mixture evenly over cut sides of both bread halves.
  3. Layer bottom half of bread with tomatoes, onion, lettuce, roast beef, turkey and cheese. Cover with top half of bread; press down gently. Slice diagonally into 4 or 6 sandwiches.
